Projects that require architectural design will begin with the Architect. The preliminary design process for additions, custom homes or remodeling projects requiring architectural design is as follows:
  • Prepare as-built drawings from measuring existing home (or from existing plans, if available)
  • Place as-built drawing with reference to existing property lines
  • Prepare existing exterior elevations from measurements and photographs

Presentation of the preliminary design documents requires:

  • Proposed floorplan changes relative to as-built drawings (options as relevant)
  • Proposed exterior elevation changes relative to the as-built drawings (options as relevant)
  • Preliminary Scope of Work
  • Preliminary budget considerations

Approval of the content of this meeting moves to the next step in the process. Changes requested as a result of the presentation requires a follow-up meeting for preliminary design.
